I keep having horrible, graphic nightmares about death...

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

In the past week, I've had 5 dreams about death. In two of them, I killed someone, and the other three, I myself was killed. I have no idea where this type of thinking or these dreams are coming from at all. It's really disturbing me.

The last one I had was last night, me and some of my friends were kidnapped, and at one point the kidnapper slaughtered a police officer, slitting his throat with an axe. In this part of my dream, right before he did it, I was standing by a window and I put the curtain over my face [I remember it being white lace] because I knew what was going to happen, and everyone else just standed in a circle around me and watched, as if they were in a dead trancem and when he slit the cop's throat, blood sprayed everywhere, with them not responding to it in anyway, but them just sitting there with blood splatter covering their faces and bodies. I of course, did not get my fave covered in blood because it was covered, but I could still see through this curtain and the whole thing was just graphic. Then in the end of the dream, I grabbed a large kitchen knife and when the kidnapper was turned around, I started to stab him repeatedly and blood was spraying everywhere ocne again. Then I woke up.

My other dream involving me killing someone was me at my friend's house in her upstairs hallway, and some other girls from my high school [with whom I don't think I've ever talked to in my life] were in my friend's bedroom and the one girl wouldn't let me in and she came out of the room to punch me, and I punched her in the face and swung her over my shoulder, dropping her down the steps, only to find out that she had broken her neck in the process and died.

Other than that, my other dreams were me being murdered [which I cannot remember the basics of my dream, but I remembered me being murdered] and in my other one of me dying, I got into trouble with the law and ended up shooting myself in the head and dying.

I do not understand why I am going through this because it really does disturb me. I would never kill anyone in my life, so I'm just really confused and wondering if this means something or not. Ugh.

That really made sense to me,

That really made sense to me, thanks!

I haven't had a dream like this again recently, but things just keep going downhill, so I completely see the stress thing.

I've though about the 'me rising up from my own ashes' thing and I hope something like that happens. I desperately need it.

Thanks for helping me out though, I apperciate it :)

I've had a lot of problems with twisted dreams and deciphering the meanings has always helped me understand what the symbols are trying to tell my mind subconsciously.

I looked up a few of the key terms you mentioned, and I think this will really help your confusion.

To dream that you kill someone, indicates that heavy stress may cause you to lose your temper and self-control. Consider the person you have killed and ask yourself if you feel any rage towards him or her in your waking life. Your dream may be expressing some hidden anger. Alternatively, you may be trying to kill or put an end to an aspect of yourself that is represented by the person killed. Identify the characteristics of this person and ask yourself how you do not want to be like him or her.

To dream that you have been killed, suggests that your actions are disconnected from your emotions and conscience. Alternatively, the dream refers to drastic changes that are happening in your life. There is a characteristic that you want to get rid of or a habit that you want to end within yourself. Killing represents the killing off of old parts of yourself and old habits.

So all and all, I think it's easy to say that your stress levels are skyrocketing, and the characteristics of yourself you recognize in others that you dislike should become more clear to you so that you can confront those negative aspects of yourself. Also, I think it's very  significant that "killing represents killing off of old parts of yourself and old habits". If this was my dream, I would take that as a strong hint towards SI.

Interpret as you will, but I hope you consider these explanations!
