What's Happened To Me...

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

She holdsback her tears as she races up the stairs and into her room, slamming the door shut behind her. She wants to throw herself on her bed and scream into her pillows, but she can't wait that long.

Under her mattress is a 5 Gum package that has been long since empty. Now it holds other things: 6 razor blades and a folded up strip of toilet paper for on the go emergancies. She is too impatient to bring the whole package, so she just pulls out the razors, runs into the bathroom, and slams the door behind her, locking it.

She sets the razors down on the bathroom counter and shoves her sleeves up to her elbows, exposing her arms. She ignores the cherry colored scars already cover her left arm as she picks up her favorite razor at the moment.

She slices into her skin four times. She watches her blood bubble to the surface and then roll down her arm in fat drops.

She thinks of what they did and she drops her razor. She curls herself into a tight ball on the floor and sobs.

When she finally pushes herself back up she wipes the blood dripping down her arm off with her forefinger and draws blood X's on her cheeks and forehead. She slices twice more into her arms and then once on her stomach and legs before she finally lets a wad of toilet paper soak up the rest of her flood. She is so focused on what she is doing, she stops crying.

Before she leaves the bathroom, she washes the blood off her cheeks and forehead. If they see, they will know what she's done.

She walks slowly down the hall back to her bedroom, her razors in her pocket. She puts them away, takes out a notebook and a pencil and wries it all down.

Wow. That was beautifully

Wow. That was beautifully written, and I think that goes for most of us SI'ers. Cut, clean, then pretend that it didn't happen.

I'm not like this, I can't keep on like this.
