Broken Sorrows of a Jaded Heart

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

A girl sits on her bed in the middle of the night
Wondering who cares, just enough to fight
She’s upset, she’s had a bad day
She heads to the drawer to drive her pain away

As she opens it, there is nothing but tears
She searches for the knife to find relief from her fears
They had no right she screams, as more tears run down her face
Then she grabs the knife and makes a deeper place

She bits her lip to forget the pain
All this hurt is just driving her insane
She’s left alone to deal with this pain-drenched sorrow
Quietly hoping for a renewed tomorrow

Curled up now, she’s on the floor
The relief she had hoped for, has left her wanting more
