Don't Lay a flower on my grave

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

What lies inside an empty shell
Where life did once dwell
The man who once had it all
The time came for him to fall

The moon has hid it's face from me
God no longer looks to see
Darkness lurks within my soul
Death is it's only goal

All in life that I lived for
Is gone now forever more
I have no desire to go on
Now that my life is gone

I can no longer laugh or smile
My soul can no longer take this trial
The only way to find peace
Is for my wretched life to cease

There is no one to tell goodbye
There is no one to hear me cry
Death seems the only way
To find peace on this day

I leave a note for no one to read
I leave a case for no one to plead
As my life comes to an end
Maybe another life will mend

Don't lay a flower on my grave
No prayer for my soul to be saved
Walk away and never return
To the man who's soul must burn

Now it's time for me to sleep
The pain inside is just too deep
As I slowly fade away
I'll think of you while I pray

Goodbye
Don't cry
For you will live
When I die
