Breadcrumbs:
Like They Both Once Knew
Light yourself a cigarette,
I’ll tell you what I know.
I know how curious you are,
Well welcome to the show.
Tonight is very special,
You’re a very special guest.
We’ve been waiting for a while,
Forget about the rest.
It was a cold and stormy night,
She was driving very fast.
She left the house full of light,
It now remained dark and cast.
She ran into the house,
He was waiting for her.
She stood still in fear,
As she was very unsure.
He gripped the gun tight.
Keeping his voice still,
He began to speak,
Filling her skin with a chill.
“I know where you’ve been,
I know what you’ve done.
I hope it was worth it,
I hope it was fun.”
Before she could respond,
There was a loud clack.
Her body hit the floor,
With an unpleasent smack.
Body in the car,
Keys in his hand.
He drove into the rain,
Ignoring the warnings of the land.
He was going too fast,
The rain was beating down hard.
He almost didn’t see,
The tree in front of his car.
He slammed the brakes,
But it was already too late.
The seatbelt that wasn’t across his chest,
Decided his fate.
Through the windshield,
Both bodies flew.
On the ground they lay side by side,
Like they both once knew.
