Vision

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

I realized today
While you yelled in my face
That even when I pass by the standards
I have still failed in your eyes.

And I cried
mourned
cut
Until I felt no more.

Then my vision was restored
And it became clear
That your eyes are only two
Who's horizon I pass.

And while you apologized
I looked blankly into your eyes
Because although you remain my mother
I will never relate to you.

Now you just walk these grounds
As an obstacle I must overcome
To be myself
As I should hope to be.
