La pianiste
3 years () (Permalink)The novel isn't bad. Some of the language is quite lovely. The movie changes a lot of the details and loses some of the subtext. I think this is the novel that won the Noble Prize for Jelinek. I can see why, but I can also see why so many people think giving this controversial piece such a high honor was a questionable - putting it more politely than the critics have - decision.
