The young woman in this video is caught self-injuring by her mother and runs away to her friends house. With the aid of her friend she comes home, bandaged up, and is comforted by her mother. This video is connected to Girls Xpress!, a support group that is a part of The WISH Center, a greater community that provides support for young self-injurers (as well as women, youth, and children who have been abused).
This is my interpretation of Hatsune Miku's "Rolling Girl" based on the translated lyrics and picture video:
There's a lonely girl that has been living in her dreams her whole life. She meets a guy and she wants to be perfect for him. She hurts herself constantly because she's no perfect. The guy just stands there, watching and asking if she is done yet. She always says no to him. He finally gets sick of watching her hurt herself and tells her she's perfect the way she is.
My name is Gabrielle and I am twenty-eight years old. I began to self-injure at age fifteen -- so nearly thirteen years minus a two year period. This website is one about self-injury (self-harm), made to let self-injurers know that they are not alone and to help their friends and family learn more about self-injury and how it affects their loved one.
