cutting

I have been cutting since the age of 8. I was first introduced to cutting by a neighbor friend. I am now 36 and I am still cutting. I mostly cut because of numbness or to feel something! I recently cut out of anger, which actually surprised myself. I am currently in counseling and seeing my Dr. regularly. My counselor has given me other options to cutting, ex. using ice, rubber bands, and using a red marker, but they just don't work. I really want to quit cutting because I am afraid that my son, who is 5, has started to pick up on some of my behavior. I really just want to stop, but I am afraid that I just can't stop. I hope that with counseling & my dr. that I WILL stop this very addictive behavior. I know I can be healed!!!
