Yes. Several of my closest friends know, as do my therapist and pastor. (I told because) I knew that I was not coping with problems in an appropriate manner and needed to get help because the SI was getting worse.

One person

Only one person in real life knows that I cut myself. I want to tell a teacher of mine that I do it because I have always been really close to her and she's been there for me through a lot of things, but I am nervous she'll tell my parents. I'm eighteen and a senior in high school, but I still think she might tell my parents. I am going to try talking to her Monday evening about it, but I want to make sure I can trust her not to tell my parents but allow myself to tell my parents when I'm ready (even if that's never.) I just want someone older than me in real life to know that I've done it and not a friend who does it herself...
