HI, my name is Dashawn , and I have been cutting for 10 years and I am still cutting . and to be honestly I don't know how to stop . Can you tell me how you stop.?
I cut for about eight years. Stopped for one, had a minor slipup, then stopped for another one. So for nearly three years I barely thought of it. However, I've started hurting myself again, especially in the past month.
However, when I wasn't self-injuring I felt self-injury wasn't an option. I felt I was ready to stop. While I didn't remove all blades, I threw out the ones I had specifically for cutting and were my "favorites." Medication (and this was a big one for me) was taking care of the symptoms that made me want to self-injure. I had been in therapy and phased out of it.
I can't say I'm a good example but I was happy for two and a half years and rarely thought of self-injury.
