    • "Three estranged siblings, and former child prodigies, reunite with their eccentric mother and father (who left during their adolescence) when he announces that he is terminally ill."

At roughly 1hr9m in the film, tormented by his unattainable love for his sister Margot, Richie goes into the bathroom where he begins to cut off all of his hair and shave his beard. Having shaved off one strip, he looks directly into the mirror and whispers 'I'm going to kill myself tomorrow', before prying the blade from the razor and calmly slitting his wrists while he experiences a flurry of flashback snippets. The camera then views the sink, tap still running and hair strew all over, while Richie's arms are stretched out with his blood rolling down them and dripping into the water. He then slides down the wall to sit on the floor, where he bleeds out - to be discovered by Dudley.

Having being committed to hospital and escaping, around 1hr17m, Richie visits Margot. She asks him how many stitches he got, he says he doesn't know and asks if she wants to see. She nods and he rolls up his sleeves to remove the bandages, exposing the numerous long, stitched gashes down both arms.
