The Edinburgh Self Harm Project was opened in 2005 to provide a non-judgemental, friendly and user led support service to people who self-harm. We also explore the needs of family, carers and professionals in contact with people who self harm.
We provide a confidential service which allows people (age 16+) to talk about what is causing them concern.
We offer support and respect to enable people to cope with crisis, and develop the skills and confidence to make positive life choices.
The Project tries to respond to any difficulties that people are experiencing in a safe and supportive way. We also provide information, advice and support to professionals. It is a community outreach project that aims to provide people who self-harm with a safe and non-judgmental environment in which they can explore their feelings and worries in confidence.
Parents and Carers Support Group The Edinburgh Self-Harm Project is now running a Parents and Carers Support Group once a month within the Project. This service is for any parent, carer or friend, who is dealing with the issues of suicide and self-harm.
