    • Two years.

Two years I've been in recovery from self-harm.

I don't think I can last another day honestly. More recently, every time I've been getting angry or upset, I just want to hurt myself all over again. Well that would be two years wasted!! I can't stop the thoughts. I can't. They're literally consuming my brain more and more everyday. Just waking up is a struggle. Sleeping is even a chore for me now. I just want to hurt myself so badly because at least before when I did that, I didn't feel depressed or pain. When I used to hurt myself, I felt invigorated and a lot happier. I don't get it. What's wrong with me? Why doesn't therapy help? Nothing helps me anymore!!! I am so afraid I'll relapse. I can't do it though. I've worked so hard to get here. I just don't think I can take it anymore though. I want--- no, need to hurt myself.

      Please, help me.

I don't know what to do.

      I'm scared.

Thank you very much for this reply! You'll make it there too!:-) it isn't easy but hey, we are all very strong, stronger than we know. I am here for you too!

First off, let me just say that I am in the same boat as you. Well sort of, I've only been clean for about a month and a week or so. Two years is quite the accomplishment and I hope to make it there someday. I really wish I could help you, but seeing your post has just put my feelings into words. If you need to talk to someone I'm here. Who knows, maybe we can help each other out :)

I tried the rubberband but it doesn't help. :/ I will try ice though! Thank you.

As someone who is in a similar boat to you, I understand the need and urge to self harm again. I would recommend trying some alternatives to actually self harming. A good one that I was told was to wear rubber bands on your wrist and snap them or to rub ice over an area, as the numbing and slightly painful feeling can help. Hope this helps!
